In 1990, the Physicians' Chamber Orchestra of Taiwan (PCOT) was founded by a group of talented and dedicated physicians and health care professionals. Since then, they have given more than one hundred concerts around the island, including regular performances in the National Concert Hall. They have developed an ensemble that is gaining national acclaim. Many of the nationally renowned musicians had been their guest conductors and soloists.

“Music, Love, and Life” is the core value of PCOT. Therefore, they have been participated in many fund raising concerts and charity events, including AIDS prevention, smoking cessation for adolescence, Spinal Cord Injury Foundation, CPR training program, Children Cancer Foundation, Formosa Cancer Foundation, Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders, and Taiwan Spinocerebellar Ataxia Association. They have also been played overseas in Australia, New Zealand, France, and Hong Kong to benefit many organizations or institutions, including Princess Alexandra Hospital, National Heart Foundation of Australia, National Heart Foundation of New Zealand, Otago Community Hospice, Auckland Cancer Association, Starship Children Hospital, Children Cancer Foundation Au profit de l'Association 'Vie et Espoir' de Rouen, and Project Vision with Hong Kong Medical Association Orchestra. In recent years, POCT has been invited to play in several music festivals, such as Festival de la musique classique en été en Normandie in 2013 and Kuandu Arts Festival in 2014.
